A Love Story with Gelato
Our story begins with a trip to Florence, Italy. Pino Gelato’s owner and CEO, Ramona Fantini, first fell in love with gelato when she visited Italy in 2002. Ramona was enthralled with the rich flavors and quality of gelato during that trip. Upon returning to the United States, Ramona decided to share her newly discovered love with the rest of the country by serving the best gelato in the United States. Out of this passion, Pino Gelato was born.
From A Single Gelateria to an
Pino Gelato began as a charming gelateria located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and has grown to a chain of Italian gelaterias located throughout the United States. Currently, Pino Gelato has sixteen locations (corporate stores, licensee stores and airport concessions) with more locations planned for the immediate future. Our licensing model has proven to be a great success for both the corporate office and the licensees.
Pino Gelato has garnered numerous industry awards and recognitions, including the US Chamber of Commerce's Blue Ribbon Small Business Awards for two consecutive years (2012, 2013); Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Small Business of the Year (2010); and Best Ice Cream and Gelato Shop by Hilton Head Island (2011, 2013), to name a few.
What Makes Pino Gelato Different?
“We Scoop Happiness!” Customers do not need to travel to Italy for a taste of “happiness.” With warm, inviting décor, soft Italian music and scrumptious delicacies, customers are treated to a European experience as soon as they walk through the door. Gelato artisans greet each customer, invite them to sample flavors and are available to educate the customer about the history of this creamy Italian treat.
Of course, gelato is our featured menu item; however, we also offer sorbetto, espresso, cappuccino, coffee, pastries, and a healthier option to pizza, the Pizza Cone, as seen on Food Network's "Unwrapped".
Our gelato artisans only use fresh, all-natural ingredients to create our gelatos and sorbettos. We offer a healthy dessert that is better for you than traditional ice cream but is creamier, thicker and has a richer flavor. It is happiness in a cup!
